Bonsall Bridge drawing
What follows are some in progress shots as well as the final drawing of the old Bonsall Bridge near Fallbrook CA. This drawing, along with many others, will be exhibited on August 28th when I will be having a one man show at the Pinnell Gallery in Fallbrook. The reception will be Friday evening from 5-7 on the 28th. If you are in the area I would love for you to stop by and say hello. The reception coincides with the final Fallbrook Hot Summer Nights Celebration of the Summer. So there will be lots going on around the town that evening in addition to my show. You can contact the gallery for more information at 760-728-8870.
Here are the images.

First I layed in the heavy shadowed tree on the left of the image.

I then started to move across the top of the image. I was careful not to use to much contrast on the background landscape so it would recede and stay behind the bridge.

Then working down though the bridge and into the ground clutter I tried to keep the clutter believable while not making it distracting.
The final drawing (8.5″x 5″) with its three little denizens cautiously creeping from the shadows.

Hey Ray …. it’s a great piece. You really nailed it to what I remember seeing as reference and sketch ideas. You may be on to something here! (wink, wink)
