Birds In Art

Well I have at last made the cut and I will be included in The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum’s prestigious Birds In Art exhibition. I have made the effort the last six years and always have come up short. So I am very excited and extremely gratified to be included. The drawing that was accepted is Winter Blues (10 x 21.5 inches). It is an image inspired by the tree in my parents front yard. A point of view from their front door that I have noted almost my entire life. This winter I finally took some reference photos and completed the drawing. The drawing is still available although it must remain with the museum for the duration of the exhibit.

Ray, as I noted to you personally, I am overjoyed to hear this news. I am glad that you never gave up during your half dozen years of receiving the ’small’ envelope, but as I have always maintained, the day would come and it has. Now, you have an even bigger task at hand . . . following up next year and making sure this reputation is upheld! Congrats my friend.

  2. Ray, That is wonderful news! I’m very happy for you. Looks like I’ll be seeing you in Wausau this fall.

Congradulations Ray! This is a fantastic piece with a very strong composition and the story of how you have seen this tree almost your entire life is touching. As always keep up the great work and I will see you in beautiful Wausau, Wisconsin!
